Katsumi and Haruko Kazama developed a once terrace and taro land covered area in lower Waimalu and opened Waimalu Super Market in March of 1960. A restaurant, delicatessen, and Kaiser Medical Clinic were some of the other tenants in the first increment starting at the Ewa end.
